Cost Of Living

  • State income taxes- As inflation from federal monetary policy is hitting our wallets, state legislators should allow South Carolina individuals & families to keep much more of their hard-earned wages! I will work with my colleagues in Columbia, to pass BOLD state tax reforms. I propose eliminating the state income tax for all making $25K/year or less & reducing it for all making more, to 4.5%. South Carolina individuals & families should never pay a higher state income tax rate than a corporation, period!
  • Affordable housing- Availability is much higher, for those who reside in areas with low government restrictions on how properties can be developed or altered. I will work with my colleagues in Columbia to pass “People Over Parking” legislation, reducing or eliminating minimum parking & lot size requirements. This will immediately give developers of residential properties, as well as those seeking to alter an already-existing one, the ability to offer more affordable Housing!
  • Occupational Licensing- These laws prevent those who are completely capable of proficiently performing a job, from doing so. You should not have to prove to the state, that you are capable of cutting hair! I will work with my colleagues in Columbia, to reduce occupational licensing requirements, breaking down barriers to entry of the free market.

Quality of Life

  • Transportation & Roadside Infrastructure- I'm sure you've heard some version of the following before: “We at county or city council can't help you, you'll have to take it up with SCDOT”. This lack of accountability & action at the local level is not acceptable. I will work with my colleagues in Columbia, to double the allocated portion of state motor fuel fees, that go to county transportation committees (CTCs). This will allow local governments more funding & flexibility to solve issues affecting traffic, alternative-transportation, and roadside infrastructure.
  • Bodily Self-Autonomy- Infringements upon the natural right to bodily self-autonomy are unconstitutional & must permanently end in our great state! In keeping with this, I will work with my colleagues in Columbia, to legalize the use of medical and recreational cannabis. No person should be punished for using whatever substance(s) they please, so long as they don't infringe upon the rights of another.
  • Crime & Community Outreach- Crimes that don't create a victim are not crimes. Many crimes that do create victims are preventable! I will work with my colleagues in Columbia, to make sure law enforcement agencies & officers have the tools & skills needed, to effectively prevent & respond to true crime. South Carolinians should grow up & reside in a place where they feel protected from predatory criminals, while feeling respected in their liberty to peacefully live as they please!

Transparency & Accountability

  • Government Spending- For far too long, governments have been able to operate in inefficient, economically-detrimental ways, chiefly due to the fact that most people have little knowledge of how their tax dollars are being spent! I will work with my colleagues in Columbia, to pass legislation that makes it much easier to find & view, where your money is being spent by the state & local governments.
  • Committee & School Board Meetings- If government employees have nothing to hide from the public, why would they oppose having their decisions put on display, for the people they serve to see? I will work with my colleagues in Columbia, to get already-proposed legislation over the finish line, that will require legislative committee, county council, city council & public school board meetings to be live streamed to the public for free!
  • Career Politicians- Legislators from both major parties keep a tight grip on the way we can all vote, so they hold onto their power for years past favorability amongst the constituency! I will work with my colleagues in Columbia to pass already-proposed legislation that would allow municipalities to utilize Instant Runoff Voting for their elections. This will save taxpayers money with not having to pay for runoff elections anymore and it will force candidates for office, to appeal to a wider-base of the electorate, in order to win their election & represent you!
